United States Government Accusations Unfair to U.S. Army Major Kojo Owusu Dartey

By W. James Payne Law Firm

Wilmington, NC – Innocent until proven guilty? In a perfect world, one would expect the United States Government would be fair. The United States Government holds much power but has been unfair to United States Army Major Kojo Owusu Dartey, who has served in multiple tours as a US Army Major.  Major Dartey is a decorated combat veteran. While in combat he earned the Combat Infantry Badge and during his service to our Country, he earned two Meritorious Service Medals, and four Army Commendation Medals.

Major Dartey is not a violent international arms trafficker, as the Government accuses him in its press release after his trial in April of this year.  A United States Federal jury acquitted Major Dartey of buying weapons for anybody but himself (the same statute under which a different federal jury convicted Hunter Biden); the same jury has also acquitted him of intimidating a witness. The jury did convict Major Dartey of violating regulations regarding shipping weapons to another country, and lying to an investigator and to a court. That is the accurate representation of the trial against him.  Attorney W. James Payne, representing Major Dartey, rebukes the government’s unfounded assertions against Dartey. Mr. Payne stands firm in defending his client’s rights for justice and fairness.

“Major Kojo Dartey is a decorated Army combat veteran who has bravely defended our freedom and is the farthest thing from a violent international arms trafficker. It is an Honor to represent men and women such as Major Dartey”, says W. James Payne, Major Kojo Dartey’s attorney.
