United States Government False Accusations Constitute Unfair Treatment to U.S. Army Major Kojo Owusu Dartey

By W. James Payne Law Firm

Wilmington, NC – Innocent until proven guilty? In a perfect world, one would believe that the prognostic measures of fairness should be held to the upmost scrutiny in the hands of the US Government. The US government holds much power but has been unfair to Major Army Major Kojo Owusu Dartey, who has served in multiple tours as a US Army Major.  Dartey is a decorated combat veteran. He has also earned the Army Commendation Medal the Army Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Badge.

Dartey has been convicted of shipping weapons to another country for his own use but has been acquitted by a jury of all other charges.  Major Dartey is not a violent international arms trafficker.  He has been acquitted by the jury of buying weapons for anybody but himself; the jury has also acquitted him of the witness intimidation charge. Attorney W. James Payne, representing Major Dartey, rebukes the government’s unfounded assertions against Dartey. Mr. Payne stands firm in defending his client’s rights for justice and fairness.

“Major Kojo Dartey is a decorated Army combat veteran who has bravely defended our freedom and is the farthest thing from a violent international arms trafficker. It is an Honor to represent men and women such as Major Dartey”, says W. James Payne, Dartey’s attorney.

Dartey and his family have been put under severe physical, mental, and emotional stress due to false public statements made by the government. As a result of these false accusations, some of his family members have been physically assaulted and his immediate family is in hiding. This could have been completely avoided if the truth was told and if the U.S. government was not exploiting the case.
